Maduro and Cilia Flores ask New York court to dismiss the case, citing sovereign immunity

According to JURIST, Nicolás Maduro, through his lawyer Barry Pollack, and Cilia Flores, separately, asked the Manhattan federal court to dismiss the indictment. Maduro claims head-of-state immunity; Flores says she shares that immunity as his wife.

According to VPItv, the defense filed two motions, one to end the case and one against the narco-terrorism conspiracy count. Prosecutors have until October 2 to respond, a hearing is set for November 17 and the trial remains scheduled for June 2027.
