President Delcy Rodríguez led the signing on Friday of a hydrocarbons production-sharing contract between PDVSA and Beta Resources, a Grupo Gilinski subsidiary, to operate the Baré block. It's the week's second major oil announcement, Infobae reported, after the Chevron, Eni and GE Vernova deals signed Wednesday in Miraflores.
Rodríguez also met that day with oil workers and said the sector employs 71,816 people. Jaime Gilinski, the group's chairman and GeoPark's majority shareholder, thanked her for the trust placed in his company to develop the block, according to the video released by the Presidency.

Opposition commentator David Placeres reported that Diosdado Cabello met on Friday with justices of the Supreme Court and that Delcy Rodríguez met with state governors, amid the full renewal of the Supreme Court, LaPatilla reported on Thursday.
Hours later, Republican congressman Mario Díaz-Balart said in an exclusive interview with Placeres that Delcy keeps Trump's backing only as long as she does what Washington demands. Placeres also noted that Cabello's show, Con el Mazo Dando, no longer attacks or threatens the United States.
