Who we are and how we work

Escríbele Informa is the news desk of Escríbele, an independent project that prints and mails letters to Venezuelan officials who are held or charged in the United States. We are not affiliated with any government, party or campaign, or with the people we write about.

What we publish

• Venezuela today: two short editions a day (around 7:00 and 17:00 New York time) and a breaking edition when something major happens.
• Tocorón Watch: every new filing in the U.S. cases against Venezuela\'s rulers and their circle, explained in plain words, with the original document.
• El Termómetro: what Venezuelan state TV and opposition channels talk about more or less each week, counted from their own videos.

Where it comes from

We listen to what Venezuelan state TV, officials, and opposition and independent commentators say in public, going back years, and we follow established news outlets and the U.S. court record. Our Venezuela library today: 22,375 videos, about 9,659 hours and 80.2 million transcribed words, from 57 shows and channels, 2010 to today. It grows every day. Every quote is copied from the transcript and links to its video; every outside fact names its outlet and links to it; every claim is attributed to whoever made it.
