A day after Donald Trump's announcement, Diosdado Cabello's program aired a message from acting president Delcy Rodríguez, who thanked Trump and Marco Rubio and said Venezuela chose "the path of diplomacy" with the United States. State broadcaster VTV presented the deal as the start of an era of investment and prosperity.
On another program, Mario Silva read an open letter that called the pact an "oil betrayal" and warned it commits the country's reserves without national debate.

Acting president Delcy Rodríguez toured the temporary terminals of Maiquetía's Simón Bolívar airport, closed since the earthquakes, alongside National Assembly president Jorge Rodríguez. According to VTV, the facilities reopen Tuesday, September 1, with capacity for 720 outbound international passengers and 480 domestic.
Infobae had already reported on August 26 that the airport would set up temporary terminals to resume flights on that same September 1, after nearly two months closed. The tour also included the transport minister and Conviasa president Aníbal Bellorín.

Opposition commentator Daniel Lara Farías questioned whether traditional parties are "really different from chavismo" and said former Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) leaders, such as Ramón Guillermo Aveledo and Chúo Torrealba, defended dialogues with the government in the past.
According to Lara Farías, Aveledo was the MUD's executive secretary until 2014 and Torrealba backed the 2016 dialogue with chavismo, which in his view produced no change.
