María Corina Machado to join the Nobel Peace Prize conference in Oslo by video on September 3

María Corina Machado, the 2025 Nobel Peace laureate, will take part by video on September 3 in the Nobel Peace Center's "Democracy on the Brink" conference in Oslo, alongside Maria Ressa, Juan Manuel Santos, Ales Bialiatski and Narges Mohammadi, La Patilla and El Impulso reported. Fifteen young activists from five countries will attend.

In Venezuela, journalist David Placeres said the Vente Venezuela team has returned from exile and is already organizing campaign events, and that Machado fears parliamentary elections will be called first. He also said Machado acknowledged in an interview with Der Spiegel that she could be excluded.
