After the Supreme Court deal, Figuera sets an August start and Poleo celebrates

A day after the agreement between Jorge Rodríguez's and Dinorah Figuera's delegations to replace every Supreme Court (TSJ) justice, EFE laid out the mechanism: a reform of the TSJ's organic law, an expanded nominations committee and a council to review candidates' credentials. According to EFE, Figuera said implementation starts this month.

Patricia Poleo hailed the deal as the start of dismantling the chavista judiciary. David Placeres claimed the initial commitment covered only the Electoral Chamber and that Marco Rubio pushed to include the Constitutional Chamber. On the pro-government side, Mario Silva objected to Jorge Rodríguez sitting down with Figuera and four other opposition figures.
