Trump administration seeks immunity for Delcy Rodríguez in $314 million Florida lawsuit

The Justice Department intervened in a Southern District of Florida lawsuit brought by three Americans detained in Venezuela and asked that Delcy Rodríguez be dropped as the sitting head of state, Latin Times reported. According to NTN24, the request began with a petition from Venezuela's embassy to the State Department.

Patricia Poleo said the move gives Rodríguez legitimacy as head of state and attributed it to Trump's interest in drawing investors to Venezuela.
