Deaths from the double earthquake rose on Monday to 4,561, 71 more than in the previous count, Telemundo 51 reported, citing National Assembly president Jorge Rodríguez. The injured number 16,740, and more than 20,000 people remain in 107 shelters in Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira, the same report said.
In La Guaira, a mother searching for her son under a collapsed building told VPItv the heavy machinery has left and only volunteers remain. The government announced it will hand over the first 200 homes this week, according to Telemundo 51.
