Nine political organizations launch the Alianza por Venezuela and back María Corina Machado as candidate
According to Infobae, nine center-left political and social organizations formally launched the Alianza por Venezuela (AVE) on September 14, backing the Panama Manifesto signed by the unity platform and María Corina Machado. The coalition's spokesman, Noel Álvarez, said: "María Corina Machado will be our candidate."
The alliance is demanding early presidential elections with a firm date, an end to the disqualifications barring opposition leaders from running, an impartial National Electoral Council, and the release of political prisoners, VPItv reported. Dinorah Figuera, coordinator of the so-called phase-three negotiating table, arrived in Caracas and announced meetings with relatives of political prisoners and with the Venezuelan Catholic Church, according to VPItv.
