Jorge Rodríguez raises the June 24 earthquake death toll to 4,490

Sunday's official tally, presented by Jorge Rodríguez, head of the temporary camps, puts the dead at 4,490, with 16,740 injured and 17,907 people left homeless, La Iguana TV reported. On Saturday VTV had reported 4,333. Delcy Rodríguez visited the mobile hospital set up by Qatar in Catia on Saturday.

NTN24 said the official figures have not been verified by independent organizations and leave out the missing. Efecto Cocuyo on Saturday described a La Guaira under heavy military control, where rescuers say they need military approval to act.
