The government on Saturday raised the death toll from the June 24 earthquakes to 2,954, with 16,592 injured, 6,462 rescued and 16,309 people left homeless, Descifrado reported, citing the Communication Ministry's tally. The report counts 190 collapsed buildings and 942 aftershocks.
NTN24 showed a man being rescued from the Costa Azul apartments in Caraballeda 10 days after the quake, and aired relatives' complaints about delays. According to VTV, acting president Delcy Rodríguez decorated rescuers from Portugal, Lithuania, the Dominican Republic and the Czech Republic in La Guaira.

Delcy Rodríguez has completed six months as acting president, the maximum allowed by Article 234 of the Constitution, and the National Assembly led by Jorge Rodríguez has not ruled on it, Infobae reported. The group Acceso a la Justicia called that silence "alarming." According to AP, Rodríguez held her first news conference eight days after the quake.
