Terms of service

"Escríbele", "we" and this site mean Write to Maduro and the company that operates it, named at the end of this page.

1. We take a written message and an optional image, format them for facility mail and send the letter by U.S. postal service to the address on file for the recipient.
2. Price: US$4.99 per letter, including formatting and postage. US$1 of each completed order goes to children's cancer research.
3. We control printing and mailing only. Delivery, reading and any response are up to the facility and the recipient and are not guaranteed.
4. We review every message and image before printing and may decline content that breaks facility rules or the law. You get one chance to revise.
5. You confirm you have the right to use the text and image you submit and that they contain no private information about others without consent.
6. If you share an uploaded image for others to use, you confirm you hold the rights and grant Escríbele a free, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to display it on our sites and print it on other letters. We may edit, decline or remove shared images at any time.

8. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the order.
9. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Write to info@mailmaduro.com before filing any dispute.

Mail rules

Letters are printed in grayscale on white US Letter sheets, up to three sheets, with the image on the first sheet. Nothing else goes in the envelope.

Incoming general correspondence at a federal facility is opened and inspected by staff before delivery (28 CFR § 540.14). Mail that breaks facility rules is not delivered. Write accordingly: no threats, no illegal instructions, no harassment, no contact details of people who did not agree to be included.

Your private link shows review, printing, USPS handoff and any returned mail. Approved letters are usually printed within one business day; First-Class transit is normally 1–5 business days plus facility screening. No arrival date is guaranteed and ordinary postage carries no delivery confirmation.

Replies are not guaranteed. If one reaches us, we let you know; with your permission we scan it for you, or mail you the original for actual postage plus a US$13.99 handling fee.

Refunds

If the message needs a change before printing, we email you what to fix and print it once corrected. We refund when we could have mailed the letter and did not on our side. Once mailed, the order is final.

Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe, usually within 5–10 business days.

Privacy

We collect your name, mailing address and email, the message and image you submit, and payment references from Stripe. We never see or store card numbers. Your street address is never published.

We use this to print and mail your letter, send order updates and prevent abuse. Providers that handle data for us: hosting, Stripe (payments), our email provider and printing and postal services. We do not sell or rent your data.

Identifying metadata is stripped from uploaded images. Letters and images appear publicly only if you chose to publish them and they passed review; showing city and country is a separate choice. We keep the scope and date of your choice with the order.

We use Google Analytics to count visits (pages viewed, approximate location, device, referrer), without advertising features. Letter text, names, addresses and chat conversations are not sent to it. Analytics cookies are not set for visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland. You can block it with Google's opt-out add-on.

To delete your data, email info@mailmaduro.com from the address you used. We keep only what payment and legal records require.

News and analysis

Venezuela today, the people pages, Discourse Radar and Tocorón Watch are automated summaries, counts and translations of public sources (news outlets, official channels, court filings), each with links to the source. They may contain errors or omissions and are not statements of fact by us, our opinion, or legal, financial or other advice. Quotes belong to the people who said them; roles and dates are as reported by the sources on the date shown. Court documents speak for themselves; our summaries do not replace them. Commentary and parody on this site are opinion about public figures and public matters. To request a correction, contact us.

Guasa chat notice

Guasa is a satirical chat. The characters are generated by an artificial intelligence model and parody public figures. They are not the real people, do not speak for them and are not endorsed by them or by any government. Replies can be wrong or invented and are not statements of fact.

We do not store your messages or the replies. Your message is sent to the AI provider (Anthropic) over an encrypted connection to generate each reply; the conversation exists only on your screen. We keep anonymous usage counts and an automatic topic label, not the text. A reply reaches us only if you send it with Report or Send to our team. Do not type personal information about yourself or others.

Guasa is for adults (18+). Do not use it to harass anyone, collect personal data or present a reply as a real statement by the person parodied. Every reply has a Report button.
